This course covers Windows 10 Administration as well as some basic computer skills surrounding the Windows 10 operating system, as follows:* Logging into your machine, switching users, and signing out* Finding your way around File Explorer and pinning commonly used items to the Start Menu and Taskbar* Setting a default printer, screen size and screen resolution* Overview of Accessibility Options available within Windows 10* CTRL+ALT+DEL menu options, including Task Manager and locking your machineThe course is intended as a basic overview for anyone using Windows 10 for the first time, for example if your company has recently upgraded to Windows 10 from a previous operating system, such as Windows 7. Although things will largely be the same between the two operating systems, there are some minor changes, and knowing these will help you to assist users and ensure that a smooth migration process takes place during your upgrade project as things such as desktop shortcuts are often overlooked by IT technicians, but are vitally important to end users. It will take time for user's to become used to any new system, so this is one to be aware of as well, during any upgrade process of any hardware or software, within your organisation. On the services part of this course, you'll learn about key Windows services, including the following:DHCP, Workstation & Server - Used for connecting to a network and for sharing filesSecondary Login & Group Policy Client - Used for the Runas command and for applying policiesRemote Access and Remote Registry - Used for remote access purposesWindows Installer & Windows Time - Used for software installation and keeping a computer's time consistent with a central serverUser Profile, Netlogin and Windows Security - Used for logging into a computer systemAlso included on this course are any commands that would be associated with these services, for example the DHCP service includes an explanation of the ipconfig command that would be used to view a machine's current IP address. Note that there is often more than one way to obtain the same information, so it's a case of choosing the right way for you, as this is often unique to every IT technician. Some commands will only work locally, whereas others will work either locally and remotely, so this is something to keep in mind as well, and this is something that often comes with experience, usually when in a 2nd line support role, also more commonly known as a desktop support technician.
