Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of harmony and prosperous living by eliminating negative and enhancing positive energies around us. Vastu aims to eliminate negative energy present at a place or location so that a person, family or even business inhabiting a building become prosperous and progressive. In modern times , the knowledge of house building technology has grown so vast, that it has been branched into special filed such as architecture , engineering and interior decoration.Vastu Vidya is a collection of ideas and concepts, with the support of layout diagrams, that are not rigid. Rather, these ideas and concepts are models for the organization of space and form within a building or collection of buildings, based on their functions in relation to each other.Vastu Shastra is based on the five essential elements - Prithvi (earth), Agni (fire), Tej (light), Vayu (wind) and Aakash (space), which are known as panchabhutas. The whole universe including the earth and the human body is considered to be made out of these five elements that affect the cosmic forces and the forms of energies. Architecture deals with the internal comfort and external beauty , civil engineering deals with the structural stability but vastu provides with the knowledge to be adopted in building a house so as to make the native happy , healthy and prosperous.
