A very powerful aspect of coaching is helping people see themselves. Often, when people see themselves, they gain insight into what is important to them, what they want to do, and their part in an ongoing situation that they want to change. In order for us to help a person, team, or organization to see themselves, they need to accept that whatever comes from us that refers to them is a true reflection of them rather than a distorted or biased interpretation. That's where the skill of using their own words comes in.
