Understanding Theology from the Bible matters. Everyone is a theologian because everyone has thoughts about God. The question is, Are you a good theologian or a bad theologian? As followers of Jesus Christ, we have the opportunity to grow in our knowledge of the truth so that we might love the Lord and others more. This class, which is part of a four part series, is designed to give an overview of the theological truths that accord with Christian orthodoxy.This course will develop the truths that the Bible teaches about Christ and the Holy Spirit. The most important question that any person can answer is: Who do you believe Jesus is? The Bible has much to say about the person and work of Christ. The Bible also has much to say about the person and work of the Holy Spirit. In a time where abuse and confusion about the Holy Spirit abound, it's critical to understand what God has revealed to us about the Holy Spirit.We will begin by discussing the person of Christ. Who is the Christ? How can he be 100% human and 100% divine? Why does it matter that he was God in the flesh? Why does it matter that he took on humanity? We will then examine the work of Christ. Beginning with his pre-incarnate glory, we will unpack the biblical narrative to see how the Son of God takes on human flesh, dwells amongst us, accomplishes our salvation, ascends to the Father's right hand, and promises to return to finally and fully establish his kingdom. We will then turn our attention to examining the person and work of the Holy Spirit dispelling some misunderstandings and seeing clearly who he is and what he does.
