What about creating a lace effect for a leaf or a person's clothing? If you can answer yes to any of these questions or are just curious to know more then this course is for you.In this course you will learn how to make 3D elements to enhance and elevate your embroidery. You will learn the techniques to use which you can then use in your own way to create free-standing leaves, flowers, wings, trees, clothing etc to be then applied to your project.We will cover:Making wire wrapped elements such as tree branches or handsDifferent forms of paddingAttached and detached woven picotsWired and unwired slips which are elements that are made separately and then applied eg wings, leaves, blackberries and acornsNeedlelace which can be used for things like clothes, leaves and wingsOnce you have learnt these skills you will then be able to experiment and adapt them to use in your own work, perhaps using different materials and changing the scale of the piece.You do not need any experience of stumpwork to take this course however if you have some experience of embroidery it would be helpful but by no means essential.
