A Video made from Powerpoint slides: A complete school year teaching beginner/remedial Reading and Spelling with Phonics This course is intended to be used with a tutor who has a student to oversee the lessons. However, it is also possible for a self-starter who truly intends to teach themselves to do the lessons on their own. I have narrated each lesson. I suggest for Review to just turn your mute button on, or the sound off after you've listened to the audio portion from beginning to end of each slide. This course teaches the sounds the letters and combinations of letters make, lessons in how to 'sound out' both short vowel and long vowel words, Spelling and Reading Rules and their exceptions, and teaches words in 'families' instead of random lists of words. It also teaches homonyms, synonyms, compound words, words of more than one syllable, Bonus Material which includes suggested readers for beginning reading students, suggested classics for all grades, suggested reading titles for the tutor, a Needed Materials List for both the tutor and for the student; Tips and Tricks for the Tutor and more. There are numerous lessons with Reading Practice. There is included an Elementary Writing Rhetoric task for students above 3rd grade taken from Aesop's Fables, "The Hare and the Partridge, which integrates Reading, Grammar, and Writing.
