SAP Extended Warehouse Management - FunctionsWith SAP EWM, all goods movements are controlled centrally and users are provided with tools to monitor warehouse activities.Additional processes can also be managed in the warehouse, such as managing serial numbers, batches, resource optimization, etc. With EWM, not only can the movement of goods in the warehouse be monitored, but the delivery of goods can also be efficiently controlled.Compared to SAP WM (Warehouse Management), EWM offers additional functions such as enhanced control of picking and storage as well as fundamentally more flexible warehouse management structures. Users can create activity areas, personnel management and work centers in SAP EWM that are not available in WM:Goods receipt, goods issue, cross docking and returns processingManagement of storage locations: With SAP EWM, users can control storage capacities, picking, booking and management of storage locations and goods receipts. The entire warehouse facility can be mapped in Extended Warehouse Management and set up according to different warehouse types.Correction of goods receipt: A changed or corrected goods receipt can be transferred back to the ERP system (ERP: Enterprise Resource Planning) using EWM.Optimization of storage capacities: With the help of EWM, the appropriate storage locations for products can be determined and the layout of the warehouse can be optimized.Workforce management: EWM enables users to create work packages for employees to perform in the warehouse.
