The instructor emphasizes that there's limited structured material on this topic, with many pianists learning runs by observation or invention. This course aims to fill that gap by presenting what the instructor considers the "core" and "essential" piano runs every pianist should incorporate into their repertoire. The curriculum covers various types of runs, including: * **Glissando runs:** Different variations of glissando techniques will be explored. * **One-handed, two-handed, and 1.5-handed runs:** The course will delve into the mechanics and application of runs utilizing different hand combinations. * **Interval and chordal runs:** Techniques for executing runs based on intervals and chords will be taught. Each lecture focuses on a specific type of run, breaking down its mechanics with clear examples. The instructor also demonstrates how these runs are effectively used within actual songs. This course is ideal for pianists who want to add exciting and flashy elements to their musical performances.
