This course introduces students to the challenges of managing projects, teams, and theories used to lead projects successfully. Incorporating examples from pop culture and real-life situations, this course will establish a strong foundation for understanding the principles of both waterfall project management and agile project management frameworks. The content will cover various topics, including project management terminology, agility, project selection, team leadership, organizational structure, cultural considerations, planning, project life cycles, scope, cost estimation, project budgeting, risk management, project closure, and career opportunities in project management.Learning Objectives:Using real-life and pop-culture examples, students will learn about projects, their history, project drivers, and roles.Understanding the project management waterfall (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing) & agile (ideation, development, testing, deployment, and operations) life cycles using real-life and pop-culture instances.Beginning a project using chartering and elements.Developing, leading, and managing waterfall and agile teams.Showing real-life examples will help learners understand scope management, collecting requirements, defining scope, and change control for waterfall and agile projects.Budgeting, planning, estimating, and determining costs of waterfall and agile projects using pop culture examples.Learning about risk management, identifying risks, and risk response through movie and TV references.The knowledge of how to close a project includes scope validation, early termination, and closure techniques in both waterfall and agile projects.I will provide awareness and steps towards becoming a project manager and a brief look forward to the future of the project management role.Knowing how everyday life relates to project management activities.
