课程详情

This course covers a detailed description of the physicochemical properties of the main building blocks of polyurethane materials, polyols and isocyanates. It has an engineering focus, whereas all the properties are explained in a concise way without going into the detailed chemistry of both isocyanates and polyols. The course is divided into sections specifically about all the properties of isocyanates and polyols, covering all the materials which are available for the polyurethane industry, such as rigid and flexible polyurethane foams, elastomers, adhesives as well as other applications. The course starts with the main classes of isocyanates, such as MMDI, MDI, pMDI as well as TDI and alipathic isocyanates. Specific properties of each class of materials are also treated, such as isocyanate number, reactivity, viscosity, hydrolizable chlorine as well as other relevant engineering properties. In a similar way, the main properties and classes of polyols, such as polyethers and polyesters are throughly explained, emphasizing on the main properties of polyols such as hydroxyl number, viscosity, reactivity, acid value, as well as other relevant engineering properties. Both sections include basic safety measures which are frequenly employed in polyurethane laboratories. Regulatory measurements are explained and based upon the current safety standards of the polyurethane industry.
