Pentatonic is a great way to develop beginning improvisation skills on the piano. You can develop this easily in a step-by-step method. This uses the language center of the brain. The subconscious does the work. You enjoy the improvisation. This course gives specific exercises to develop your improv skills. Every "step" should be practiced over-and-over until it is completely and effortlessly in the subconscious.Pentatonics is a five note scale, from the major scale, without the 4th and 7th degrees. The 4th and 7th degrees are a "tritone". The tritone is the basis of the dominant to tonic progression. The V7 to I progression is the strongest resolution in music. The problem is that the pentatonics don't "want" to resolve. This creates a problem for the improviser.Many improvisers use pentatonics to play fast. The many issue is how to use pentatonics in a musical and meaningful way. You should learn to play pentatonics slowly and melodically. It's not easy, but it is very important.This course teaches in an organize step-by-step approach. Each step is learned completely and automatically. This is a language approach to learning music. When you use your language(s), you do not think of the language itself. Rather, you think of ideas, concepts and emotions.Then the subconscious plays the music. Music is fun.
