Will I Pass the Exam if I Buy this Course?I'm putting this question first as not to disillusion anyone. The tests cover all the important topics and coupled with finishing the Python Essentials courses on OpenEDG, then you'll be in a very good position to pass the exam. These tests will supplement your learning and prepare you for the exact format of the exam to maximise your chances on passing. I've yet to come across any other course that mimics the actual exam and has detailed answers for each questions - it's not just copy pasta, that mean's there's over 160 pages of explanations!Why these practice tests and not the others on Udemy?First, this one is focused on PCAP-31-03 not the 02 syllabus.Second, I've tried others and searched for questions in the same format and standard as the actual exam but there is very little available, especially as the PCAP exam has now changed its syllabus so many topics from PCAP-31-02 are no longer tested in PCAP-31-03. The practice tests are built around the actual syllabus and you don't have to worry about being tested on topics that will never come up.Finally, many of the other tests are either not at the right level, lack explanations or just copy and paste code from else where. Although this course does use reuse some of the code (and I'm talking less than 10%) from the Python Institute courses, the questions asked are not the same so you must have understood the concept to get the right answer. The explanations are very thorough and the code is provided so you can test the answers yourself. Have a look at the preview video to see how questions are presented, the answers and source code given (link to the github repo is in the answer section for question 1 of each of the tests).What are in these tests?Four 40 question practice tests (so 160 questions total) in the same format and style of the actual PCAP-31-03 exam. The topics covered are only from the PCAP-31-03 syllabus and in the exact same proportion as will be on the exam:This Mock Tests cover the following topics:Modules and Packages (questions 1-6)Exceptions (questions 7-11)Strings (questions 12-19)Object Orientated Programming (questions 20-31)Miscellaneous: List Comprehensions, Lambdas, Closures, and I/O Operations (questions 32-40)All questions are bespoke.The test includes detailed explanations to help improve your understanding as well as code so you can run the snippets yourself. If you find specific topics difficult, you can reference the Python Institutes own course (which is free) on their OpenEDG website - it is recommended for you to complete that course as all the information needed to pass the exam is in that course and the questions from the questions are heavily influenced by it.What do you mean by actual test format?Have a look at the promotion video for examples but they are delivered in the same style as the actual exam. This means:* 40 Questions with 65 minutes* Only topics listed in the syllabus covered* The split of questions are the same as the actual exam: 6 questions for Modules and Packages, 5 for Exceptions, 8 for Strings, 12 for Object Orientated Programming and 9 for Miscellaneous* Number of choices for a multiple selection question is listed and usually restricted to two (like the exam)* Number of options to the questions is four (actual exam can go up to five but is rare)* The style of the questions is the style you'll encounter in the real examWhat is the standard of questions?The content is based around the Python Institute courses on OpenEDG (Python 1 and 2 Essentials) and the syllabus so all the topics covered are from there so no niche or advanced topics that you don't need to know but some of the questions can be more focused.Are the questions too easy then?Not at all, to answer the questions you need a firm understanding of the concept being questioned - superficial knowledge won't be enough. Some nuances of topics are asked but nothing that wasn't covered in the OpenEDG course. The standard is harder than the actual exam but for the right reasons - testing full grasp of the pertinent topics, not because you are tested on hyper specific irrelevant things.Are there any Explanations?Yes! There are detailed explanations to help explain the answers, you aren't just spoon fed things. If you learn the concepts you can apply them to other questions and improve your overall Python knowledge. Along with the explanations you can find a link to download a file with all the source code for the questions - the link to the source code is at the beginning of the answer for Question 1 of each test.Whether you choose to take this course or not I wish you all the best with the exam.:)
