PARTICULATE NATURE OF MATTER.What is matter; matter is anything that has mass and occupies space. By definition, we see that almost everything in the universe is made of matter. Examples of matter include the plants and animals around us; the food e we eat, the water we drink and even the air we breaths. We ourselves are matter.But then, chemistry class should be presented to students in such a way they will understand it better. This is what I discovered in my years of teaching and research experience.Years ago i encountered experience with some chemistry students in a full school. When I walked into a Home Economics laboratory where they were taking some classes on how to cook some foods. Then, I asked a students to bring sodium chlorine to add to the food. They where all surprised. Thinking I wanted to harm them. That sodium chloride is poisonous. Statistically, 95% of students failed. They all learnt for the very first time the cooking salt which is the normal salt is what they see or hear almost everyday in chemistry classroom.A good logical approach will make students to find chemistry easier.
