The Nokia Certified Network Routing Specialist (NRS) program provides a comprehensive understanding of IP and Ethernet technologies. I have captured here Layer 1 and 2 basics and components necessary for switching operations. Layer 1 BasicsWe will go through provisioning cards , IOM and MDAs. See how that relates to ports. We we walk through lab sessions to understand basic initial configurations, Logs and security, Users. We will go through lagging and STP and how they can be used to protect against broadcast storms. We will talk about files, storages and where they can be found, manipulated and read. Layer 2 BasicsLayer 2, the Data Link Layer, is responsible for node-to-node data transfer and error detection. It includes:we will work through turning up ports, Build Lags in LACP mode and normal mode. See how to turn up layer 2 connections between two nodes. Emphasis will be laid on Labs.
