What image comes to mind when you hear the word SHODO?"Shodo at school" "a quiet environment" "Japanese tradition"Perhaps some people think that preparation and cleanup are troublesome. You have to take out your writing tools, wash the SUMI, etc. after writing, and then put them back in. SHODO is a repetitive process. The reason why I have presented SHODO in this lecture is because, as I mentioned in the video, time spent on SHODO is a very effective way for people in today's busy world to regulate their minds. On a daily basis, we are unaware of what is going on inside of us. We spend our time speaking and acting according to our superficial awareness and emotions. If we continue to do this for a long time, at some point we may realize that we have drifted away from our true thoughts and wishes. And this may manifest itself as stress. To resolve this, it is important to face ourselves, feel objectively, and sometimes accept it. And while there are several ways to do this, SHODO is one of the best ways to do so by simply writing.SHODO has saved my life.I quit my job and started my own business, but there were so many things I was unfamiliar with and had to learn that my head was in turmoil and I felt stressed out. Even though I had just started, I even thought in my mind that I might as well just give up on the one-person business. And finally, I lost my energy and couldn't face the task anymore. It was during this time that I remembered that I had been spending less and less time doing SHODO, so I decided to make time to do it. Then, that one day when I did SHODO, I was able to spend the day with peace of mind. What was happening in my mind was that my anxiety about what lay ahead disappeared into nowhere, and my mind became calm and I gained a small sense of accomplishment every day.My mind was completely stable and I had the strength to face the task again.I learned from this that the "mind" is very important in maintaining a business.I believe that SHODO is like a solo journey within oneself.I would be happy if you could use SHODO as a way to train your mind for business while gaining experiences, new discoveries, and a sense of accomplishment that you can experience on your journey.About SHODO toolsIf you are not sure what SHODO tools to use, you can ask the staff at the SHODO store directly, or you can start by trying out some reasonable tools. If that is too difficult, you can use a FUDE pen and paper. The tip of a brush pen does not have as much volume as a SHODO FUDE brush, so in the practical use, please be conscious of writing smaller strokes.Course Outlinesection1 Why I created this coursesection2 Outline of the courseSection3 Why SHODO helps you to concentratesection4 What you can gain from quality concentrationsection5 What is SHODO?section6 Gaining a "stable mind".section7 Relationship between SHODO and Mindfulnesssection8 Basic tools for practice and how to proceedsection9 SHODO Practicesection10 Summarysection11 Bonus LectureThe video I am presenting in the Bonus Lecture is in Japanese, but you can learn just from the images, so please sign up.Reference materials・The Agency for Cultural Affairs' report, "Guidelines (Report) Concerning the Character Forms of the Jyoyo Kanji Table".・Recommendations for Brain Training SHODO Supervision: Hidenao Fukuyama/Hiroyuki Aoyama・Stanford University Mindfulness Classroom by Steven Murphy ShigematsuRegarding the revised sectionIn Section 8, Lecture 20. The correct figure is approximately 33.4 x 24.3 cm. Also, there is no length or width for HANJI. You can use it as you see fit. We apologize for the error and correct it.
