This course will explain how the main verb forms in Latin are formed and how they can be recognised and translated.The course is intended for beginners in the language, and seeks to make learning these very important parts of the language as easy as possible. This is done by breaking verbs up into their constituent parts and explaining what these mean, and if they change, how they change. There is more here than is needed for the English GCSE, but just about as much as is needed for A-Level. Regardless of examinations, however, the course is designed to make what is traditionally regarded as a hard but essential part of the language as easy to understand in its basics. It is also designed to reduce the amount of rote-learning to an irreducible minimum.This course on the Latin verbs is intended to form just part of a learning package that will cover the entire language - grammar, syntax, translation strategies, even scansion. But it can also serve as a standalone course for those students who simply want a quick and easy approach to the main parts of the verb.In closing, don't expect me to provide a course that takes all the learning out of getting the verbs. But I do believe this course makes the verbs easier to learn than the approaches made in the standard course books.
