Until the modern era, every culture across the world understood the importance of an initiation (a rite of passage) that every boy should necessarily undertake in order to become a man. Whilst a girl has a natural introduction to womanhood when she has her first period, a boy has no such clear marker, and thus, in former times, it was seen to be prudent to introduce this rite of passage instead.The days of such an initiation are long gone, and it is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon in our contemporary culture that we see the mindset and behaviour of boyhood continuing into an adult body. Slowly, the real role models of authentic masculinity began to disappear from the world, and we have been left with a society, despite its many technological advancements, is at its core, immature.With the breakdown of religious influence in society, in favour of science, there is a lack of wisdom to guide morality and ethics.Can we really save humanity with more information and intelligence?Or do we really need more Spiritual insight, compassion, understanding, patience and love - attributes of the Divine Father.When we toss aside the archaic, dogmatic, outdated and irrelevant belief systems of religions, we must be careful not to throw out the realm of the sacred. That is to say, not to throw out the baby with the bathwater.Without the understanding of the sacredness in life, within ourselves, and in each-other, we lose sight of our guiding force. We lose sight of our wisdom, of our innate sense of inspired action, as opposed to the misguided unchecked optimism of youth.In the ancient teachings, such as Alchemy and Yoga, the sacred is the realm of the Divine Masculine, which is the source of all life, the Eternal Spirit, as opposed to the Divine Feminine which is life itself.The direction of humanity must be steered with the deep wisdom of the Divine Masculine, or there is a danger, despite our best intentions, that we will fall folly of the many sabotaging energies which lurk in the shadow of our unconscious mind, and in the collective shadow of humanity that is on the rise right now, that seeks above all else...Power and Control!The calls of 'toxic masculinity' and the so called 'patriarchy' which eludes to the society that has been built around the institutions, which do not have deep wisdom at their core, are indeed signs that something has gone wrong. However, the world does not need less masculinity, for what we currently have is not mature masculinity, it is boy psychology. What the world in fact needs is more of the Divine Masculine, which is achieved by accessing the male archetypes...There are four main Jungian Archetypes which are used in men's circles around the world to bring about balance in the male psyche, restore mental health, and initiate the journey of maturity into manhood. These are:The King - This is the primary archetype which underpins the rest, which assures us of our Sovereignty. Establishing this connection to the King is paramount, in order to combat the increasing assault upon our Sovereignty, designed to try and divorce us from this birthright. The time has returned, for each of us to know that we have absolute authority over our lives, and our inner kingdom, of our ideas, beliefs and our state of consciousness. The Warrior - This is the archetype which is often strong in men, but needs to be aligned to a sense of protecting the King, our Sovereignty, as well as protecting us from harmful ideas that come from the outside, as well as from our own Egoic mind. This archetype is much needed right now, to rise up against the dark forces within the collective.The Wizard (or Magician) - This is the archetype which transforms the childhood forces of immaturity into the wise forces of maturity, in alignment with the King. It brings us into 'divine alignment' and opens up our ability to attract our true destiny in life.The Lover - This is the archetype which allows us to cultivate self love, as well as compassion for others through empathy and understanding, giving us the power to overcome judgement, projection and fear, which are at the heart of humanity's dysfunction. In this course, we will explore each of these four archetypes in their fullness, as well as dive deep into both the passive and active aspects of their shadow sides. (what plays out unconsciously in your thoughts, words and actions)There are two meditations for each archetype, to ensure the full embodiment of them, as well as shining the light of awareness on the shadow. In this way you will become fully self aware of who you are as a real man, empowered to be present, and fully meet the challenges that the world brings you.The final initiation will take the form of a shamanic journey to integrate the 'quarternity' in your psyche, which is all four archetypes working together, to create harmony within your own psyche, and within your life.This course is designed for both boys, and men who wish to embark on a voyage of inner discovery, of what it means to be an authentic man. No matter what your sex, or sexual orientation, we all have these archetypes within us. This quarternity has been successfully used to discover the mature masculine within the male psyche in countless men's groups, and men's circles for many years, particularly since the work of Robert Moore and Douglas Gilette in the early 1990s.
