The holiest of prayers is the Kaddish. We sanctify HaSHem's name in public. We do this at least 10 times a day. Many are aware of this prayer being said as a merit for our relatives who passed away. But, it's not a prayer for the dead, as many think. It's a core Jewish belief that life is eternal. Our limited time in the vestibule of this world is a preparation for an everlasting world to come. The lives of those who have left this world are effected by those of us who are still here, inasmuch as we are connected to them. This applies primarily to the seven relatives who we mourn, and above all - one's parents. The Kaddish prayer is a public expression and manifestation of Gods sanctity in this world. The one who says the prayer and thereby is the catalyst to bring this sanctification of God, has made the greatest life accomplishment. That is a tremendous merit. However, the merit isn't just to say a bunch of Aramaic words. Each word has profound meaning. The sanctity and merit can only be according to how much we understand what we are saying. In this lesson series we explain beauty and depth into every word and concept in the Kaddish.
