An introduction to chanting in Latin, and its power to transform us. This is a simple instruction in the In Nomine, and Pater Noster, quite simple, but powerful prayers. You will be taken step by step through learning and chanting these prayers, and learning to read the Neumes - the musical notes used for Gregorian Chant.The Latin chant is a powerful way of accessing deep spiritual states because it is a kind of mantra - even though the western world didn't use the word mantra, they new how to create sacred poetry that transforms and uplifts us and gives us peace. We will explore this peaceful peaceful experience together - or at least get a little taste.This is a course for absolute beginners. I take you step by step through learning your first chant. If you already have some experience with chant you may find it very easy, and I hope to create some courses for a more intermediate level as well. In this course we go step by step word by word and line by line through the pater noster, understanding it and also the precise way to chant it. (Note that making mistakes is not a problem here - we chant because it is beautiful not because it is correct) We touch a little on deep christian philosophy, but that is another topic, and this is only the very beginning.
