Social Psychology is the scientific study of the causes and consequences of people's thoughts, feelings, and actions regarding themselves and other people. It is a set of concepts and discoveries that can fundamentally expand and enrich your understanding of yourself, those in your social sphere, and events in the world around you.This is a college level informational content course, intended to educate students about the basics of social psychology. This course will assist students in understanding human behavior, acquiring core concepts and skills of influencing and persuading others. Excellent resource for both personal and professionals in sales, business, and/or any human service industry.By the end of this course, students should be able to:-Recognize the fundamentals of social psychology and how culture plays a major role in shaping human behavior;-Identify the core elements of social cognition and the power of belief biases;-Explain the role of self-concept, self-regulation and self-schema in how it changes our cognitions and behaviors;-Discuss how and why persuasive messages are effective (or not effective) at changing our (and others) thoughts and behaviors;-Differentiate between racism, prejudice and discrimination, and why people engage in these behaviors, as well as the outcomes for those who have these social experiences;-Analyze how attitudes form, change, and how they impact our behavior and thinking;-Explain interpersonal aggression, and passive-aggressive behaviors;-Recognize attitudes pertaining to personal attraction and sexual behaviors.
