This course is intended to provide an overview of the Violence Against Women Act, also known as VAWA. During this course, you will gain the knowledge and skill to file a self-petition under VAWA if you are an abused spouse, parent or child.This is a relatively simple process. Bear in mind not all cases are the same. If you have a situation where you were abused in the US by a spouse, or child and there is nothing atypical about your situation, then you can use this course to apply for a visa under VAWA by yourself. This may save you thousands of dollars in fees to an immigration attorney.By the end of this course, you will have an understanding of VAWA and whether you qualify to self-petition for a visa under VAWA. This course will walk you through the completion of USCIS Form I-360 and provided information on the documents needed to substantiate a VAWA self-petition.
