This course is intended to provide an overview of the citizenship and naturalization process. The four ways one can become a United States citizen will be discussed: (1) the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution; (2) people who are born in another country to parents who are U.S. citizens; (3) through a process called "naturalization"; and (4) people who are lawful permanent residents of the U.S. and whose parent or parents are United States citizens through naturalization, birth in the United States or other ways such as acquisition of citizenship and derivative citizenship.By the end of this course, you will have an understanding of the eligibility requirements for citizenship and naturalization and the steps you will need to take to become a US citizen.
