Having Stage IV rectal cancer is quite a lot to deal with.I recently analysed my behaviour and the result is I was in fact following a process and a pattern of behaviour and it stems from mindset. Australia's largest research institute for Cancer.Post-production note: In my lecture class I referred (past tense) to breast and bowel cancers as "Sexy" as they receive much more attention and medical research and funding than rare cancers like rectal cancer. This is not to suggest in any way that these cancers are less traumatic than others. Any cancer is traumatic. However, from a funding perspective, they get a lot of media attention whilst rare cancers get NONE! This is a real problem for sufferers of rare cancers as we don't have the same amount of research and knowledge in this area. A lot of the time our oncologists are guessing what to do. I in no way am minimizing any cancer sufferer. It is bloody awful and I feel your pain.
