This Hazard Communication, Hazardous Materials and Chemical Safety training is suitable for personnel requiring an awareness and understanding of the hazards and controls associated with chemicals. It is aimed at ensuring they have a common understanding of the regulations guiding the handling of chemicals as well as industry best practice when working with chemicals. The course examines the The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) and the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS). It looks at the similarities, the differences and the required programs, procedures, labelling formats and the roles and responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, distributors, employers and employees in the chemical handling chain.The course also gives participants an overview of the requirements for the handling and storage of hazardous substances and understanding of common handling and storage methods for chemicals.
