This course is designed for a broad range of learners interested in physics, engineering, or technology and want to understand gyroscopic systems, their behavior, and their applications across fields like Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Robotics, Navigation, and Product Design. The course is designed to enlighten about relation between angular momentum and torque to understand the mechanism of gyroscope along with mathematical expression, to be applied in applications like aircrafts, ships, four wheel drives, two wheel drives. In aircrafts, the gyroscopic effect can be analyzed on tail and nose of aircraft depending on direction of viewing while aircraft takes left or right turn, or aeroplane takes off or it is landing. In case of ships, effect of gyroscopic couple studied during ship steering, pitching and rolling. In ship steering its effect studied on stern and bow of ship depending on direction of viewing. In case of pitching, its effect studied on star-board side or port side. However in case of rolling its effect is insignificant. Furthermore, gyroscopic effect studied for stability of four wheel drives while vehicle taking turn of curved paths, along with effect of centrifugal couple. In last, gyroscopic effect studied in two wheel vehicles during their turning operations on curved paths along with limiting conditions to avoid skid of vehicle of curved surface.
