The goal is get your toddler to talk! This course is designed by a speech pathologist, and it is for toddlers that have fewer than 15 words in their vocabulary. The toddler is encouraged to watch 35, three-minute videos, by themselves or together with their parent/caregiver (they can assist by imitating actions and the target word after the characters.) These cartoons were used in therapy with toddlers that have limited vocabularies and after hundreds of success stories, these cartoons are now available for every child in need!The course is subdivided into sections based on word categories (vehicles, animals, familiar toddler words, etc). The cartoons do not have to be watched in any particular order. The child can watch each cartoon as many times as they would like in order to master the new word. New words are learned when the child develops the association between the word and what it represents. A specific technique of having the word repeated many times during the cartoon is used in order to enhance the child's understanding of the word. The same family of characters is used throughout all of the 35 cartoons to promote the child's connection with the characters.It is beneficial for the parent to imitate the actions after the cartoon characters and to sing the target word as it comes up on the screen. This will help elicit word productions from your child. However, the parent/caregiver does not need to be present in order for the child to learn!
