This is a complete Bootcamp course on emerging and intriguing technology - Genome Editing using CRISPR Cas9. It will let you edit the basic component of all life on the planet, i.e, genes. Through gene editing, you can edit your characteristics such as eye color hair color, and height. It has the capability to cure major diseases like cancer and more. This course introduces you to all the basics and dives deep into the working, functionality, applications, advantages, disadvantages, advances, and limitations of the current gene-editing technology. You will learn everything from basics about cells, DNA, RNA, genes, and more. Later dive deep into CRISPR technology and gene editing. Then we discuss the ongoing research and applications of gene editing such as treatment for cancer. Let's edit some genes!!!!------------Contents of the course:Section 1IntroductionDNA/RNACRISPRCORONA VirusCORONA VaccineSection 2CRISPR SystemGene Knocking OutHistory, Immune system, mRNA Vaccines.Section 3Cancer ImmunotherapyCRISPR, ZFN's, TALENS.Gene Editing Adv, Disadv, Advances, Limitations.Gene editing is performed using enzymes, particularly nucleases that have been engineered to target a specific DNA sequence, where they introduce cuts into the DNA strands, enabling the removal of existing DNA and the insertion of replacement DNA. Key among gene-editing technologies is a molecular tool known as CRISPR-Cas9, a powerful technology discovered in 2012 by American scientist Jennifer Doudna, French scientist Emmanuelle Charpentier, and colleagues and refined by American scientist Feng Zhang and colleagues. CRISPR-Cas9 functioned with precision, allowing researchers to remove and insert DNA in the desired locations.
