This course is a step-by-step introduction to family history research. You will learn how to organize yourself for family history research, create a family tree, and find the relevant documents you will need and where to find them for FREE. Finally, we will examine family history-related documents to find family members from prior generations. In this course, we will visit several free, online tools used to search for family records and I will show you how I use each site to perform family history research. At the end of this course, students will know how to start their family history journey and be comfortable navigating various sites to find important information. Further, students will have a starting place for organization of all family materials collected, so that they more easily put together family trees and create printed family tree posters and banners.
