FTII JET 2025 Sound Recording and Design for Film Division OnlyThe Sound Recording and Sound Design course offered by the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) for the Joint Entrance Test (JET) 2026 is an intensive program aimed at nurturing skilled sound professionals in the film and television industry. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of sound and its critical role in storytelling. Students will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of sound recording, including field recording, dialogue editing, and sound mixing. Emphasis will be placed on practical applications using state-of-the-art technology and software, enabling students to develop their unique artistic voice. The curriculum covers essential topics such as acoustics, sound design theory, and the use of sound in different genres. By the end of the course, graduates will be equipped with the technical skills and creative insights necessary to excel in various roles within sound production, making them invaluable assets to the evolving landscape of film and television.Prospectus: This is an elaborately designed cinema-oriented course in Sound Recording & Sound Design, which is a blend of technology and creativity. The training given is to enable students to technically and aesthetically evolve in recording and designing sound for cinema, other audiovisual forms and various media requirements. Along with continuous exposure to classic films they analyze and understand the use of sound in cinema. After an initial phase of integration with all departments in the first semester, students undergo intensive knowledge based learning in sound recording and sound design. The students have an opportunity to gain comprehensive hands-on experience through original recording and mixing sessions. This is followed by practical, individual and group exercises and projects with other students. The department has a combination of digital and analogue equipment with both tape and disk based systems. There are two sound recording studios for Music Recording & Dubbing. A dedicated space for Foley recording. The department is also equipped with two 7.1 mixing facilities. The department has portable digital audio recorders, HDD based workstations, several outboard effects processing equipment, automated mixing, electronic looping system and a well-equipped electronics laboratory.Course Duration: 3 Years divided into 6 Semesters.
