This course provides an introduction to HVAC systems including a deep dive on core key concept topics of thermal comfort, indoor air quality, ventilation rate standards, contaminants, healthy buildings, system types, air-side and thermal-side equipment, chillers, refrigeration cycles and Psychrometrics. This knowledge provides a solid foundation of understanding HVAC systems and ensures an ideal knowledge base from which to move onto deeper learning of design methods & techniques. The course is ideal for those wishing to upskill for moving into the much in demand HVAC industry and those aiming to transition into this area. As it starts from fundamentals it is also beneficial for current students, technicians and practitioners. Generally the course is designed for beginner to intermediate level e.g., from beginner up to 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor degree level.The content is generally presented in SI metric units but where appropriate the related IP imperial units are also provided.
