This course is designed for junior operation managers (sales, marketing, production, etc.) who seek to leverage their knowledge in forecasting techniques that will reflect positively on their career path. Since no company can function effectively without forecasting its products or services, forecasting becomes a crucial skill for operation managers. The "Basics of Forecasting" course will provide them with basic knowledge, tools, and techniques to understand the fundamentals of forecasting: features that are common to all forecasts and what constitutes a good forecast. the course will also help them understand the aspects of forecasting, and the steps in the forecasting process. In addition, throughout the course "Basics of Forecasting" they will learn how to differentiate between judgmental and time-series data-based forecasts and apply a variety time-series data-based forecasting techniques such as techniques for averaging, techniques for trend and techniques for seasonality in order to solve operation problems. Also, the "Basics of Forecasting" will provide the audience with practical cases to practice hands-on from the beginning of the forecasting process till its end with monitor their forecasts including determining the forecast error and take other related decisions. the "Basics of Forecasting" needs participants to have the basic knowledge of excel as an important tool.
