In this lesson, students will learn about the journey of a character through a dramatic arc, and students will also learn the difference between the protagonist, main character, and supporting character.By watching the best examples on screen, students will learn through exercises to master subtle gestures, to face the challenges of our body in a scene, as well as to interact between actors for romantic scenes.Students will learn how to prepare a video book to get into an acting agency and get auditions. TABLE OF CONTENTSLESSON 1 - Differences Between Theater and Film Acting: In this lesson, you will learn about the distinctive features of acting for the screen and how they differ from theater acting. Through a comprehensive analysis, you will gain a deep understanding of the language of cinema and its evolution from theater plays, setting the foundation for your journey into the world of film acting.LESSON 2 - Body Awareness: This lesson focuses on the importance of body awareness in acting. You will learn that your body is your instrument and how to use it to convey emotions and actions realistically. By understanding the unique nature of your body, you will be able to determine the natural behavior of your body when experiencing each emotion and circumstance.LESSON 3 - The Significance of Intellectual Skills: In this lesson, you will discover the significance of intellectual skills in acting. You will understand how formal and comprehensive education in any area can provide actors with the necessary tools and general knowledge to portray a character convincingly.LESSON 4 - Emotions and truth - Stanislavski & Adler: Connecting with emotions and portraying truth in a character is essential for any actor. However, there is no single technique to achieve this, and it's important to learn various formal techniques. In this lesson, you will learn the approaches of Konstantin Stanislavski (1863-1938), who based his technique on affective memory, and Stella Adler (1901-1992), who based her technique on the use of imagination to create a truthful interpretation.LESSON 5 - we will explore the Meisner Technique (1905-1997) which emphasizes on understanding the reality and world of the character to represent them authentically. As an actor, it is essential to engage in active listening, not only to other actors on set, but also to the character in the story. Through this lesson, you will learn the importance of deep listening and how to achieve it in order to deliver a convincing performance.LESSON 6 - Emotions and Truth - Example: In this lesson, I will provide you with an example of a scene from one of my works where I apply both the Meisner and Stanislavski techniques. The objective of this lesson is for you to understand the challenges that can arise during a film shoot and how to manage unpredictable conditions while staying true to your character's emotions. Through this exercise, you will learn to master subtle gestures, interact with other actors on set, and adapt to the physical requirements of a character.LESSON 7 - The Art of Contemplation: In this lesson, we will explore the three stages of contemplation through cinematic examples on screen. By understanding, feeling, and observing these examples, students will gain practical knowledge to put into practice and better comprehend the course content.LESSON 8 - Differences Between Acting for Theater and Cinema: This lesson will use examples on screen to showcase the evolution of acting language during the 20th century. It will also explore the listening evolution process in a scene.LESSON 9 - Character Development: Types, Arcs, and Protagonists: This lesson will delve into the differences between the protagonist and main characters in terms of writing. Understanding dramatic arcs is essential for actors to honestly listen to other characters and grasp the narrative nature of a film story.LESSON 10 - Dramatic Arc Structure: This lesson, an extra from the screenwriting course, will teach students what a dramatic arc consists of and the Aristotelian structure of a story.LESSON 11 - Anatomy of a Screenplay: Another extra from the screenwriting course, this lesson will provide students with an understanding of what a screenplay looks like on the screen.LESSON 12 - The Disabled Exercise: This scene will offer examples of how the circumstances in which our bodies find themselves affect our performance and the emotions we convey.LESSON 13 - Romantic Scenes: This lesson will focus on the nature of romantic scenes and their stories in acting. Students will learn the necessary maturity needed to work on these types of projects to avoid compromising the quality of film projects.LESSON 14 - Example of a Love Scene: This lesson will demonstrate how to create a realistic and convincing love performance on screen. Students will gain valuable insights and examples on how to build an emotionally powerful love scene.LESSON 15 - Casting and Agency: This lesson will teach students how casting agencies work, including the two main types of agencies to consider when starting an acting career - advertising acting agencies and fiction agencies.LESSON 16 - The Importance of Physical Training: This lesson will highlight the importance of taking care of one's body and health to tackle any film project.LESSON 17 - Social Relationships: In this lesson, students will learn about the fundamental role social relationships play in opening a path in the acting world.
