The event electromagnetic induction is first observed by Michel Faraday by his two experimental observations. From these two observations he concluded for the occurrence induced e.m.f due to the change of magnetic flux linked with a conductor or coil. This conclusion is then guided the laws of electromagnetic induction which are Faraday's law, Neumann's law and Lenz's law. After that the effect of such electromagnetic induction is observed in a single coil which is called self induction and in presence of two coils which is called mutual induction. These two induction effect respectively gives the self and mutual inductances where this self inductance is a characteristics of a coil. This self inductance of a single coil is basically proportional to the square of the number of turns of that coil. After that the discussion over this content is made on the series and parallel combination of two coils. These gives the appearance of equivalent self inductance of the combination which depends not only the individual self inductances but also the mutual inductance of the two coils in the combination. Here the discussion on this content is then made continued to the relation of two self inductances of two coils and in that case the coupling constant or Nagaoga constant which is in general less than one and for ideal coupling, it is equal to one. The discussion of the principle of occurrence of motional e.m.f and principle of Faraday's disc is made continued. The most important assignment which is known as Reciprocity Theorem actually confirms the uniqueness of Mutual inductance of two coils and the discussion over it is also made in this content.
