*** This training course was recorded during December 2022 and January 2023 ***Welcome to this DataStax Astra DB course.We will discuss about DataStax company and review their products and understand their involvement in Apache Cassandra community.We will understand what is DataStax Astra DB and its importance in today's cloud database landscape.We will sign up for a free DataStax Astra DB account without any credit card or any payment.We will understand different parts of DataStax Astra DB portal.We will discuss about organizations and dashboard.We will review Change Data Capture and Astra Streaming service.We will check out documentation and the help center.We will create couple of Astra databases during the course and check DB details, usage details and discuss about cloud regions.We will discuss about options available under premium services.We will launch and use the Cassandra Query Language console.We will create a keyspaces and tables and populate some data.We will discuss about options available for connecting from an application to the Astra DB.We will learn about the Python Cassandra Driver and install/configure it on a Linux Virtual Machine.We will download Python apps from GitHub and use them with DataStax Astra DB.We will use Python code to generate Sales data which will be stored in our DataStax Astra DB.We will discuss about Astra DB Health and also verify the pre-integrated Grafana charts.We will conclude this course with learning about Hibernated state of Astra DB and we will learn how to terminate an Astra DB.
