Nowadays, "Power Electronics," basically deals with conversion and control of electrical power using electronic converters based on semiconductors power switches. Among all the different kinds of converters, three-phase Voltage Source Inverters based on IGBTs are one of the most widely used topologies. DC to AC inverters provide natural interfaces with direct energy sources such as solar cells, wind turbines and batteries. They are also used to feed industrial motor drives, electrical vehicles, and control generator systems.
