This review of the United States Constitution examines recent challenges to the Constitution and the sovereignty of the equal branches of government by the Trump Administration during its first 100 days in office. In numerous instances, those constitutional challenges or issues have arisen recently and involve the actions of Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States. In his first 100 days in office, President Trump created a barrage of confusing and occasionally bizarre news events, in such a rapid succession of concessions that the media was unable to provide full news coverage to many issues, as there was so much happening behind closed doors at the same time. Alleged constitutional abuses, violations, and challenges were delivered in a rapid-fire manner, creating a continuous and confusing news dump, thus making Executive corruption the norm rather than the exception. In his first 100 days, 122 lawsuits were filed against the Trump Administration, most for violations of constitutionally protected rights and norms, thus demonstrating a lack of enforceable checks and balances necessary to maintain the powers of the equal branches of government. The best way to protect the Constitution of the United States is for its citizens to understand more concisely what is at stake if the laws of the land that the President swore to uphold are capriciously ignored and abused without any redress by the other supposedly equal branches of government. The key to Democracy is sunlight and more people understanding their constitutional rights, as to who is protected and what rights are supposed to be protected. Enlightenment provides the nontangible power of the mind to influence others with facts rather than just passing on fear, as fear is the main weapon of autocrats and dictators. This publication was developed to teach, change, or reinforce views of how the Constitution is designed to protect the rights of the people against an overzealous government. And, hopefully, changed minds through intelligent dialogue may equate to changed votes as people learn to vote in their own best interest, regardless of what the man behind the curtain is saying. The most important parts to appreciate include the first three Articles, as they define the powers of what are supposed to be the three equal branches of government, the Congress, the Executive, and the Judiciary; the Bill of Rights, especially the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Amendments; and the Fourteenth Amendment, as defines Equal Protection, Due Process, Privileges or Immunities, Citizenship, and how the Amendment empowers the Bill of Rights through the doctrine of Selective Incorporation. These portions of the Constitution are key to understanding the fundamentals of United States Constitutional rights.
