Learn RGB color theory interactively, and discover a more satisfying and intuitive way to create color palettes and color compositions; colormixing is an original, interactive approach to understanding and working with digital color for artists and designers, adapting traditional artistic color practices to the unique properties of RGB screen output.Starting from first principles, students will learn RGB color theory, how to mix primary, secondary and complex colors using the RGB+CMY colormixer interface, the basis of complementary color relationships, the principles of harmony and contrast, and how all colors relate to each other. Students will learn through hands on / eyes on experimentation with color, in a cumulative lesson cycle leading to color palette creation and creative color composition.Beginners will learn a system of working with color starting from first principles, while experienced users can leverage their color knowledge creatively, using the colormixer interface and the methods of colormixing to create vibrant color compositions.The course is centered around interactive color exercises, that provide hands on / eyes on learning from foundational concepts, to practical exercises in creating color palettes and color compositions. The exercises are completed using a free external web application, with no signup required.The colormixing exercises provide a blank canvas for creative color exploration, and experiential learning about color interaction and the infinite creative possibilities of color.
