An organisation will be supplying products and/or services to their customers. It's the procurement's function to source these from your suppliers. Every procurement professional should aim to do this cost efficiently, however, there are other considerations, such as time, places of supply and delivery, ethical suppliers, available resources, quality of suppliers (to name a few). Before starting in a procurement and supply profession, it is important you understand the fundamental roles and activities that is required within the function. You are also required to understand the systems, procedures and processes. Did you know that an organisation can spend up to 72% of a companies revenues on purchasing products and services? That's a lot of responsibility!This module covers key terms used in procurement and supply, key roles and components, organisational impact of procurement and supply, the 5 rights of procurement, how goods and services are received from suppliers, stages of procurement and supply, efficient and effective administration of purchases with external suppliers, and ethical and responsible procurement. Remember, this is an introductory module, so each outcome will be introductory to each topic. This is why it is a bigger module (6 credits) than the others. We have a lot of ground to cover, so let's get started.
