In this Medical Coding practice course, you will be learning how to face and crack the CIC examination which is for Inpatient IP DRG to understand the usage of those ICD-10 CM codes.As my experience in medical coding and the knowledge acquired from the AAPC exam and education or monthly CEU's. The workshop is the only standalone inpatient coding certification (Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) ) in the healthcare industry. The reason to complete this certification as an Inpatient Coder is that the exam tests the competencies required to perform the job of an inpatient coder. I have earned the CIC credential and have proven expertise in inpatient documentation review, abstract inpatient acute care encounters, coding proficiency with ICD-10 CM, ICD-10 PCS, and inpatient payment methodologies.Expertise in assigning accurate ICD-10-CM medical codes for ICD diagnoses and PCS procedures performed in the inpatient setting. The CIC exam includes ten acute care inpatient cases in a fill-in-the-blank format. Examinees must demonstrate coding ability without multiple-choice options.Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology required to correctly code facility services and diagnoses.Knowledge of pharmacology to include common medications; their uses and side effects.Understand UHDDS Guidelines.Ability to identify documentation deficiencies.Finding Query providers for proper code capture or for more specificity.Capture POA and use of the same indicators.Strong ability to integrate coding and reimbursement rule changes in a timely manner and the UB04 for proper reimbursement.
