Yet, so few people know enough about data. Do you know who owns your data? Have you ever considered your willingness to give away your data to others?Governments in many countries have begun to look at data as a force to be reckoned with. In this course, you'll learn about when this started and how it began to affect businesses.Specifically, the CCPA law went into effect on January 1, 2023. This law has created data privacy guidelines for certain businesses that serve California residents. This course will give you the background you need to understand the CCPA.Data privacy is an intimidating term, reverently mentioned by the IT department, politicians, lawyers and judges. Together, we'll take a step back and address the background history of data privacy. You'll learn all about the history of data privacy leading up to the establishment of the CCPA.It's also important to understand the 'why' of data privacy.
