Personal finance is not simple. In fact, it is becoming more and more complicated. Developing good financial habits and skills, based on strong self-awareness combined with helpful tools, is a great way to set yourself up for prosperity and success.Hi Everyone. Thank you for considering this introductory course. Hopefully your experience in taking this course will feel like a gift exchange. I love gifts/presents. I love giving them and I love receiving them. And the reason that I say this course might feel like a gift exchange is because as part of this intro course I want to both share some of my gifts with you and also receive feedback from you, which will be your gift to me because, I consider feedback to be a gift. Now this introductory course is not the full course of 22+ sessions, it is just a taste, an appetizer, if you will. It does cost money, although a small amount, by most US standards, because I believe you will gain valuable information and tools from it. And my goal is to also receive valuable information from you as well in the form of feedback. This course will introduce the instructor, template, structure and philosophy that will be used throughout the remaining courses. You will meet the instructor, learn a bit about the philosophy, and learn how to download the template. If you have good excel/spreadsheet skills - then you'll be able to intuitively understand a lot of the template without my explanation. If you don't have strong spreadsheet skills, then you're in luck because you will learn how to use them in this course. The complete course (which includes additional sessions, separate from this introductory course) will cover key financial literacy concepts. The courses are designed to help you achieve peace of mind through the development of a budget that aligns your values and goals, is on autoflow and directs you toward your dreams. As for me, I've been naturally interested in personal finance all my life. I read and educate myself on the various topics both professionally, and also personally (during my leisure time). Some people like to watch Real Housewives, and I like to nerd out on finance topics. Not that I don't like watching TV, but I'm more of a modern love, romantic comedy kind of woman:). I've also watched or listened to many videos related to personal finance, attended many seminars, taken many trainings, acquired several certifications and I've read many books. As for books - I've read some of the classics like Think and Grow Rich, The Science of getting Rich, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Smart Women Finish Rich, Money: Masters of the Game, The 4 Spiritual Laws of Prosperity, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The Millionaire Next Door. I've taken Financial Peace courses sponsored by Dave Ramsey, prosperity courses offered by Edwene Gaines, Rev. David Ault, Rev. Cynthia Alice Anderson. I've also bought Suze Orman protection kits for family and attended Trust and Estate planning seminars. I am deeply inspired by women like Rachel Rodgers, Rha Goddess and Budgenista. I'm telling you - this personal finance stuff is one of my things, my jams. Also, for some of my paid jobs and volunteer jobs - I've managed organization budgets and audited financial services company activities for more than 20 years. And just as importantly, I feel qualified because I got my experience honestly. "She got it honestly" is a term I heard growing up. Essentially, it means that I acquired my skills through my family, particularly my ancestors. I come from a family of savers and investors. My aunt would say that my grandmother knew how to save a quarter out of every nickel. A lot of my family are people who regularly live beneath their means, regardless of whatever level of means they've acquired. Some have had a decent amount to live with and others very little, and my experiences with their habits essentially helped me to know a sense of financial security that I would like you all to know and feel as well. Oh - and I've made a lot of mistakes too, and learned from them.So that's why I am here. I look forward to sharing some of my gifts with you and having some fun. I also look forward to you providing me with the gift of your feedback, so that I can incorporate it into the future courses.
