There are certain times when I and you miss the deeper points being made in the scriptures. This is sometimes intended by Jesus. He said that he spoke in parables so they that are without should not see and receive that blessing of understand of the message. This is also a true intention of apocalyptic literature like the Book of Revelation. [Check out my course of How to NOT Misunderstand the Book of Revelation.] There are certain subjects that by their very content tend to distract even devout Christian from perceiving the deeper meanings. When the surface subject relates to sex, this is almost always the case. Exposing these hidden meanings is the work of a christian mystic teacher. Often when skimming the surface meaning of a text and leaving it at that, the student is left with misunderstands. The result may be an unbalanced life. Or it may be a mindset that fills you with self loathing or even drives you away from christianity completely.
