Class 1 Belly Dance Fluid Accents Technique and PracticeTechnique and practice for challenging lower and upper body belly dance accents based on fluid move trajectories. "Our first task today is to create accents working with fluid moves. I will teach you a couple ways to achieve this, but our bigger goal for today is just to start thinking of fluid moves as potential accents - this is something we don't do as beginners in dance, and learning and using this vocabulary is, in a way, a rite of passage for a bellydancer.So, today we'll talk about 2 ways to create accents out of fluid moves.First is creating accents by contrasting fluid unaccented slow moves with fluid moves performed as an accent - these fluid accents will be the same fluid move trajectories, but we'll perform them faster and in a more shallow way - small range of motion.The second way is to take a full fluid move trajectory and turn just one section of it into an accent.In other words, this technique is all about creating contrast. You see a lot of this type of moves in Egyptian Oriental Dance of the golden era, and also in modern Oriental Dance.
