Description:This course aims to impart knowledge on the subject of molecules, moles, Avogadro's number, concentrated solutions; chemical reactions and equilibrium; stoichiometry of reactions and solutions. The subtopics will cover the equations for the calculation of moles; %w/w; %w/v; %v/v; ppm; molarity; normality; molarity, dilution factor, reactants calculation -mmol, equivalence, catalyst mol%; the importance of reaction table; limiting reagent, theoretical yield and %yield calculation and management of records. After successful completion of this course work the candidate will be able to prepare solutions of different concentrations in laboratory work; perform reactants and %yield calculation which can be applied in advanced research work. The course will also nurture independent thinking and help candidates to design new scientific experiments. The candidate will also inculcate the habit of record-keeping and an honest approach toward reporting actual values in research papers.
