Aviation, Space and Defense industry has stringent quality requirements. This course will provide you guidelines for establishing system which will meet these requirements. ISO 9001:2015 is base standard and AS 9100 revisiom.D standard has been published by SAE in year 2016. Certification to AS 9100D:2016 when achieved will indicate your organization's ability to produce consistent quality products. This course will help the candidates to understand stringent requirements of Aerospace, Aviation and Defense industry and become preferred supplier. Specific requirements such as First Article inspection, configuration management are referred in relevant clauses. IAQG (International Aerospace Quality Group) governs certification of organizations to this sector and provides recognition on certification by means of on-line directory of certified organizations. Once organization is able to achieve AS 9100 certification it is in position to achieve quality expectations of any other industry sector. Auditors will focus on concept understanding by organization's personnel. I hope by going through course you will be preliminarily become ready to implement the same and move towards this prestige certification for your organization. It is only awareness program, I will suggest the candidates to undergo internal auditor program in class room mode to attain more knowledge. Although Aviation, space and defense sectors are having their own expectations, all 3 sectors agree to stringent requirements set out in this standard. It is purpose of this course to make you conversant with these requirements. Please go through resources provided and quiz at end of sessions (where provided) to cross check your understanding. AS 9100 is also known as AQMS (Aerospace Quality Management System). You may refer AS 9100D standard as well as other reference standards published by IAQG for proper implementation. MRO organizations shall follow AS 9110 standard and distributors shall follow AS 9120 standard. But understanding AS 9100 will help candidates to understand AS 9110 and/or AS 9120 as well. Please note basic expectations from AS 9100 certified (or those who want to be certified) organizations is ability to maintain precision and accuracy in their products with respect to quality requirements. To achieve this supporting tool like First Article Inspection is provided. Configuration management helps to establish strong traceability throughout life of product (expected product life minimum 40-50 years) upto component level. Foreign object detection helps avoiding presence of any unwanted element at any stage of production. Obsolescence management helps managing obsolete / non-usable products / materials.
