This is a course on Art Nouveau architecture, art and design. Art nouveau is an art and design style inspired by natural, organic forms. We study the precedents and origins of this beautiful and original art. We next study the classic examples of this style of art and design as applied to architecture and other design expressions. This is a style based on fluid, sensual lines and forms. Art nouveau is a style that has had a profound effect on art, architecture and design. Though its origins are in the early 1900's, it continues to be relevant and enjoy wide acceptance and applications.I teach lecture courses and studios as I wish they would have been taught to me.
