New AIAG VDA PFMEA is launched in June 2019 and mandatory to use in automotive industry,In this version of FMEA rating of occurrence, severity & detection is changed,Also RPN is replaced with Action Priority (AP). AIAG means Auto Industry Action Group & VDA means Verband Der Automobilindustries. Both have design this FMEA together to eliminate the complexity and confusion while developing the PFMEA. New PFMEA is divided in 7 steps and all steps are mandatory to get the full benefits of PFMEA.PFMEA meaning is Potential Failure Mode and Effect Analysis initially developed by NASA during Moon mission Apollo.
