This is a comprehensive training course of 4 hours covering sustainable, green, and climate finance. It unlocks the door on this vast subject that is pivotal in the journey to transition the planet to net zero by 2050. You will start with an understanding of the requirements to address to deliver this transition then move on to review the taxonomies that match investors and borrowers, including the USD300billion by 2035 of development finance approved at COP29. Then we will illustrate the tools that are available by reviewing the financial instruments, including concessional and blended finance. Then we will look at the evolution of the Market and where we stand today including carbon, pricing, carbon taxes, and the influence of Article 6 on cross-border carbon credits and offsets. After reviewing the market we will take a step back and look at the bigger picture of the future direction of finance including consideration of future scenarios from the NGFS and IPCC and the top risks from the World Economic Forum. Then we will look at some alternative ways of setting objectives for finance such as doughnut, economics, degrowth, and the well-being economy. The final lecture is the road map for Finance. I will then reach an overall conclusion. There will be plenty of resources and links available to follow up on this vast subject. This builds upon another one of my courses entitled Sustainable, Green and Climate Finance: High-level Overview.
