For several years, self-taped auditions have been on the rise, which is especially great for actors who live outside of LA or NY. There are many assets to auditioning via a self-tape, but there are also a lot of drawbacks. This course provides you with what you need to know to make sure that your audition is watched instead of simply being skipped over. Here are some things that are covered in the course: Working on the sides, how to create the best slate, what your frame should be, where the reader should stand and why, where your eye line should be, what your reader needs to do (or not do), how to understand the directions given to you by the casting director, being creative in your choices, about the lighting, about the sound, about the camera orientation. This course will most certainly increase your booking odds if you follow the tips in this video course. The downside of a self-tape is that the casting director is not able to give you an adjustment in person, which could keep you from getting a callback. That's why it's crucial that your self-tape be as good as possible before it gets uploaded and sent out. The very positive aspect of a self-tape is that you can do it over and over until the audition is at its best!
