Hello parents and guardians,Does your student struggle with the ACT Math test? Does he/she need a little more than what a prep book has to offer? This course is a blend of both practice questions and topic review. Practice questions in the skill review are grouped together by skill, so students will extensively review each topic covered on the ACT, one by one. This method of studying facilitates comprehension and recall. ACT Math Prep Course will begin with a general overview of the ACT Math section. Students will set a goal score based on realistic expectations and previous ACT test attempts. Then, students will convert their goal score to a raw score. Then, we will discuss best practices for studying, given the student's age. Also, we will discuss the practice of "chunking", studying in short bursts in order to increase recall. Strategy methods such as decoding questions, making two pass attempts, picking numbers, and backsolving will be covered before beginning an in-depth skills review.Before the student begins the in-depth skills review, he/she will be required to print the document, which is 52 pages. The student should attempt to work the skills review on their own before watching the review videos. The in-depth skills review includes 300 ACT Math problems with video review, organized by reporting category. The reporting categories are as follows: Number and Quantity, Algebra, Functions, Geometry, Statistics and Probability, and Integrating Essential Skills. The total lecture time for the skills review is over 8 hours and should be completed over several weeks. At the end of the course, students will receive tips for additional study and for test day!
